We believe families deserve better tools for both.
Estate work can take an enormous amount of time.
Before someone dies, families are trying to get organized, make good decisions, and prepare the people who may someday need to act.
Afterward, someone may suddenly be responsible for accounts, documents, institutions, property, deadlines, professionals, decisions, and a long list of unfamiliar administrative work.
Josda exists to make that work easier — so people can spend less time chasing paperwork and more time with the people they love, doing the things they love.
Why we care
The burden around an estate rarely comes from one impossible task.
It comes from dozens of smaller ones.
Before death, those loose ends make it harder for families to prepare well.
After death, they can consume months of someone’s life at exactly the time that person has better things to give their attention to.
We think technology can take much more of that burden off families.
Estate work will never be effortless. It can be a lot easier.
What we believe
Legal documents are essential to a strong estate plan. So are the financial and practical decisions around them.
How accounts are owned matters. Beneficiary decisions matter. Insurance matters. Important information and records matter. The people who may someday need to act matter. And what happens when responsibility eventually changes hands matters.
We believe financial advisors can play an important role in that broader picture — alongside attorneys, accountants, and the other professionals involved in a family’s financial life.
That does not mean asking the advisor to become the attorney, the executor, or the estate administrator.
It means giving clients a better planning experience, better tools, and better ways to prepare and act.
The professionals matter. The experience around them should be better too.

David co-founded Josda after spending time inside the work families face after a death — the bank calls, missing access, document searches, and administrative steps that can stretch on for months.
He works closely with financial advisors on how Josda can give clients and families a better experience while fitting naturally into real advisory relationships.
His focus is making difficult estate work clearer, more practical, and easier for people to get through.

Josh leads engineering and product architecture for Josda.
His focus is building software people can depend on when the information is sensitive and the work matters: reliable systems, disciplined data handling, intentional access, and a product that remains understandable when users are under stress.
He is responsible for the technical foundation that makes Josda’s Planning and Settlement experiences possible.
